Look Hooo Knows Their Scales!

The leaves may be falling outside, but they are going UP in the band room!  As a student shows mastery of a scale, his/her name goes on a leaf. As they show mastery of 7 scales, they get their own owl.  Keep up the great work!

Wednesday, September 17, 2014

Hooo knows their scales? This year's incentive to learn scales is our beautiful scale tree. As a student demonstrates mastery of a major scale, a leaf with their name is added to the branch.Look how many leaves we have already! Congratulations to Ethan for completing all 7 scales today! Thank you Mrs. Gigliotti for sharing your artistic talent to create this tree!

Welcome back!

Welcome back everyone! I am so excited to start the new school year! I had a great summer with my family. We traveled a bit and we watched and played lots of soccer. The World Cup added great fun to my family's summer! When I wasn't outside, I spent time practicing french horn, visiting with Ms. Kennedy and her sweet baby, Ruby Rose,  and reading as much as I could. I hope you had a great summer too!

The March 13th Concert is postponed.

The new date and details will be published as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience!

The 7th and 8th grade performing arts students  are working hard to prepare for our March concert. This concert features our students in smaller groups and has a different theme each year. This year's theme is "We Are the World." Students are empowered to choose their music and costumes. Leaders research, create the program cover, choreograph, direct, stage manage, run lights, manage costumes, create props and scenery, research the music performed, and announce and speak of the music performed. Here is a sneak peak into our rehearsal. Want to see the final product with the rest of the musicians in costumes, with speakers, props, and of course the grand finale?  Come to the concert in the WCS auditorium on Thursday, March 13 at 7pm!
