The instrumental program is taught by Kim Thompson. Any student in grades 4 - 8 interested in playing a band instrument is welcome to participate.
All students attend a weekly small group lesson during the school day. The lesson schedule is easy to follow, flexible and designed to maximize student attendance in their other classes.
Beginner Band is open to all interested students as young as 4th grade. Students attend one small group lesson per week and are encouraged to practice regularly at home. Students may choose from flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone and percussion. There is limited space in the percussion lesson. Symphonic Band Symphonic Band is for musicians who have successfully completed Beginner Band. We meet two times per week during the band and chorus block. We perform in December and May. Concert Band Concert Band is for musicians who have successfully completed Symphonic Band. We meet three times per week during the band and chorus block. We perform in December and May.
Wind Ensemble We are mostly seventh and eighth graders, and we meet Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 8:00 AM. We perform in December, March and May. Please subscribe to the Wind Ensemble REMIND to stay informed.
Jazz/Pop Band, is a supplement available to all Wind Ensemble members. Concert Band members are welcomed by invitation. We meet after school on Mondays.
